CAROLINA, CAN YOU DESCRIBE RIO IN ONE WORD?
It’s an amazing city, very special. It’s difficult to describe it in one word. If I had to choose one, I would unfortunately say « inequalities ».

I LOVE HOW YOU INCORPORATE RIO IN YOUR WORK, HOW DOES RIO INSPIRE YOU?
Our production company was created here in Rio, so this is one of our strengths. We know how to shoot Rio and we know where the best locations are. Rio is in our DNA. It’s natural for us to shoot here.

WHERE IS THE PLACE YOU FEEL THE BEST HERE?
The beach.


REALLY? YOUR SKIN IS SO PALE…
(Laughs) I wear a hat, sun blocking clothes, I put sun screen. But yet I love the beach. It’s the best place in Rio outside our home.
 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE THEATER HERE?
As I said it used to be Estação Botafogo. Now I like to go to the cinema in Lagoon, it’s nearby our home.

WHERE IS THE BEST LOCATION HERE TO SHOOT A LOVE SCENE?
Nice question! I think we have nice rooftops here, it’s a little bit kitsch but that could do a great love scene, in the twilight…


IF YOU HAD ONLY ONE DAY IN RIO, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
The beach in Barra da Tijuca, then go to the Restaurant Bira. At night go to The Circo Voador and enjoy a show.


TELL ME SOMETHING TRUE ABOUT BRAZIL.
We are fucked up. Rio has too many inequalities.

TELL ME A MISCONCEPTION PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT RIO.
That we don’t work.
